Close Season Information

The period of settled weather has improved the fishing at The Beeches with several anglers reporting catches of Carp, the biggest so far around 8lb. Steve Penning managed a short evening session after work which resulted in a catch of 3 Carp and another member caught an Eel of around 4lb.

Work parties have been carried out at both Harold Rd reservoirs and The Beeches to cut the grass and carry out a general tidy up with the resilts that all 3 waters are now look stunning, see club Facebook page for pictures. The Club would like to express it’s sincere thanks to all those volunteers that gave up their time (and continue to give up their time) to help out. Anyone wanting to get involved can find out when work parties are planned by looking on the club Facebook page, Clive Vale AC, or by checking out the clubs website www.clivevaleac.co.uk. notices are also put up at affected waters at least a week in advance and details are published in the local paper.

Finally, in the interests of fish welfare, members are asked NOT to fish into or over snags, lilies etc. fish TO the snag so that anything hooked can be played away from the snag and not pulled through it.

Catches from Rivers Tillingham and Brede

Clive Vale AC Member Scott Turner caught a 5lb Chub from the club stretch of the River Tillingham near Rye whilst lure fishing for Pike. This water is very under fished so we really welcome reports from here.

John Greenhalf put in a few hours on the Lower Brede and had 2 bites which resulted in Chub of 5lb 1oz and 4lb, another club member fishing the same stretch for Chub had 3 Bream to 5lb and 2 Tench. We have also been informed that anglers from Rye and District AC have been catching plenty of Bream also on the lower Brede but from the opposite bank.
