Clive Vale Angling Club was founded in Hastings, East Sussex by a local fisherman in 1912. The club is run by its committee of volunteers and offers a great variety of freshwater fisheries, with fine general coarse and carp fishing.
Over the years Clive Vale AC has acquired numerous fisheries across the South East, currently with many river stretches and several varied lakes, all exclusively available to our members. Season open dates vary, but some of our waters offer the opportunity to fish all year round. Restricted night fishing may be booked for Point Field lake direct from the bailiff there by telephone. Those tickets are issued strictly at the bailiff’s discretion to reassure landowners of necessary land security and seasonal animal welfare.

Please be aware that club memberships are valid from 1st April until the next 31st March, whatever date issued. No part year or holiday memberships are available. Day tickets are only available for fishing at Clive Vale reservoirs, all other club waters being for members only. Reservoir tickets are cheaper when purchased before fishing from Hazel’s Stores (shop opposite the reservoirs entrances) than when purchased from the bailiff on the bank when fishing.
Following the closure of Sue’s Tackle shop Rye, The Rye Harbour convenience store has agree to stock and sell our memberships, great news for anglers in the Rye area. Please support the shop.
A list of match dates is produced annually. Dates published may be subject to change, so please phone first to book an entry before travelling.
The committee is keen to ensure all our members have access to the best local waters and is always looking for new fisheries to add to our extensive list. Member feedback is welcomed.
The club rules, by-laws and angling rules (some water specific) are all printed in the membership hand book, which is issued to each member for reference when buying an annual membership. The committee reserves the right to introduce, clarify or update by-laws of the club without notice.
Clive Vale AC members may fish in ‘RFA’ waters, subject to holding a current membership book with an RFA sticker attached. All RFA rules must be strictly observed when fishing RFA waters and RFA bailiff decisions are final.
At Point Field, night fishing is available for members only, but MUST be pre-booked by phoning the number in the rule book. Bookings are stricted limited to one or two night sessions and issued at the discretion of Carrie the bailiff.
