The club committee have reconsidered the need for members having a disability to apply for permission to drive in and park a suitable road legal vehicle at their swims at Saunders gravel pits.
Decision was, that any member in issue of a valid blue disabled badge does not also need a club disability permit to carefully drive and park a suitable road legal vehicle near to their chosen swim. The blue badge must be in the name of the member and displayed, clearly visible from outside the vehicle.
Any member with a special case of disability, but who does not have an official blue badge, such as following a serious medical procedure or having a disabling illness, may apply to the committee for ‘disabled parking permit’. Such permits, specifically for use at Saunders, will be issued to members at the discretion of the committee on merit and usually be valid for the season of membership.
Site conditions are subject to rapid change. Risk assesssment before taking any vehicle onto the site is the member’s responsibility and must observe any emergency signs on display.
The club or landowner may restrict or rescind permission to park away from designated parking areas without prior notice to members whenever it is considered necessary so to do.
